Presented first in the new Arese factory and then at the 1963 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Giulia Sprint GTturns into the glorious GTA in 1965. The addition of the 'A', meaning '.Lightened"he creates one of the most successful cars in the House of the Biscione.

Part of the steel sheets are replaced with the lighter aluminium, as well as the rear and rear windows, which become in plexiglass. The interior is also stripped of the superfluous, and on the scales the GT's more than 900 kg dry weight drops to 745 kg of the road version of the Giulia GTA.

The escalation of victories in Group 2 bring theAutodelta to experience the even more advanced processing of Group 5. Between the 1967 and the 1968 a few dozen are equipped with two turbochargers. The GTA-SA (SA means supercharged) the power is around 220 hp and the speed reaches 240 km/h. They are mainly used abroad: in Germany, Belgium and France.

Alongside the winning GTA 1600 in the 1968 appears the Giulia GTA Junior with the engine 1300 on which a system is also mounted injection instead of carburettors, perhaps even more unbeatable in its class.
