La 997 GT3 RS of 2007, heir to the 996 GT3 RS of 2003is the sportier version of the 997 GT3 and is the most extreme of the production cars produced by the Stuttgart-based company, after the 997 GT2. It is intended almost exclusively for track use but can also be homologated for the road.

The engine of the GT3 RS is a power unit capable of delivering, in the version presented in 2009, like the one on OriginalRace, 450 HP a 7600 rpm that manages to push it to beyond 310 km/hwith an acceleration 0-100 in 4 seconds flat e 0-200 in 13.3 seconds. The gearbox is a six-speed manual.

Aesthetically, as is traditional for the RS (short for Rennsport), the rear is widened by 44 mmimportant in terms of stability and not affecting the weight, which compared to the GT3 version is less than 20 kg. This reduction is made possible by the abundant use of fcarbon ibra for both indoor and outdoor use (carbon fibre is also the imposing swivelling rear spoiler). The interior is made of black alcantara and the two seats, without upholstery, of ultralight material.

The standard colours available for the bodywork are grey, black, orange e green with black or orange trim and wheels, depending on the main colour. Only on request, however, was it possible to obtain the GT3 RS in any of the colours offered for the range. Carrerawith black decals and wheels (or, in any case, in contrast to the body colour).
