La 1970 Charger R/T appears in the first volume of the Fast & Furious saga: it is the car modified by young Dominic 'Dom' Torretto (Vin Diesel) together with his father to compete in illegal racing. When his father suffers a fatal accident in a stock-car race, Dom keeps the Dodge Charger in his memory, without having the courage to drive it. Only in one exceptional circumstance, in order to help Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) chase down the killers of his friend Jesse (Chad Lindberg), will Dom start the 900 HP and take it to the limit.

The muscle car in the articles OriginalRace is from the seventh chapter. Originally the engine used is the 440 Six Pack, a 7.2-litre V8 a three twin-body carburettors, capable of delivering 390 HP. In the film, Dom and his father, with some heavy modifications, brought it to 900 HP.
